what to expect as a sea scout
Sea Scouts is about more than seamanship. We build leaders. Through teamwork, real-world challenges, and meaningful responsibility, our youth develop confidence, resilience, and skills that carry far beyond the shoreline. From practicing water rescues to responding to real-life emergencies, our scouts are prepared to meet challenges head-on — on the sea and in life.
As a member of Ship Tsunami, youth will:
✔ Learn hands-on boating and navigation skills:
✔ Operate various types of vessels
✔ Practice water safety and rescue techniques
✔ Take on real leadership roles
✔ Participate in local outings and extended cruises
✔ Build lifelong friendships
Every meeting and outing builds confidence, responsibility, and teamwork.

Do we need boating experience?
No — we teach everything from the ground up.
Is Sea Scouts safe?
Yes. Safety training and proper supervision are central to everything we do. We always make sure your scout has all the proper safety equipment before participating in any activity we do.
What is the cost?
Annual membership fees for scouts are $125 a year, and they cover everything including uniforms, hands on training, boating experience, and events. Everything your youth will need to learn how to be a sea scout!
Can parents get involved?
Absolutely! We welcome supportive families. In fact, we encourage parents to go with us on boating adventures, competitions, and attend some of the weekly meetings too! And if you want to take it a step further, you are more than welcome to become an adult leader!
